Charity
Hubbard lives in Southern Oregon with her husband Randy, son Andrew and
daughter Sarah. They are privileged to live near, and enjoy the array
of outdoor activities; hiking, camping, fishing and boating amongst
forests, rivers, lakes and meadows.
Charity discovered her love for art in high school with the help of a very encouraging art teacher who would drive her to art shows as far away as Portland. She continued on to complete a one year program at Pacific College of Art and design. After that she studied for two years with Semyon Bilmes, nationally renowned artist, founder and master instructor of Ashland Academy of Art. She has received numerous awards and is a member of the Upper Rogue Artists’ Society. She works in a wide variety of mediums including, watercolor, gouache, oils, pencil and pastel. She also is an experienced commercial artist, and has worked on numerous projects for Pixel Productions Inc., a commercial art and design company. Charity is trained in perspective and drafting, and occasionally enjoys working for architects and builders, rendering technically precise yet artistic architectural illustrations in a variety of mediums. Her enjoyment of architectural elements is reflected in many of her paintings as well. Her current art pursuits gravitate more towards fine art oil paintings. She has found inspiration from masters including John Singer Sargent, Alma Tadema, Maxfield Parish, and Monet. She is also inspired by current artists such as Clark Hulings, Jim Wodark, Richard Schmid, and Michael Dudash. In recent years she has been privileged to attend and study in workshops taught by Michael Malm, Chris Hopkins, Frank Ordaz, Tim Soliday, Ron DiCianni, Mick McGinty, and Michael Dudash. Charity enjoys teaching art and offers lessons to children ages 10 and up, and adults. These classes include training in learning to draw still life, sketching, color theory and values, perspective, and painting. These are all taught on a rotational basis in weekly classes. |
